54,000 refugees, no questions asked

For the past two years there has been an unprecedented influx of New Zealander’s crossing our borders which for the most part has not been reported here in Australia; that is however beginning to change. Yesterday the SMH ran a piece looking at what we believe is starting to become a problem.

Migrants from NZ head here in droves

The rhetoric is starting to change on our side of the Tasman with these migrants now being labelled “economic refugees” which is of course true. What concerns us however are the calls from a few of these recent arrivals for access to Australian welfare, services such as Medicare and Centrelink entitlements.

This is but one of the drivers that are slowly working against New Zealanders, building a great deal of resentment in middle Australia. Why should New Zealander’s be treated any differently to any other migrant? Well of course the simple answer is that they shouldn’t be.

The relationship that exists between New Zealand and Australia is complex but also far from even when it comes to the benefits derived by the parties to various trans-national agreements such as CER. Australia undoubtedly bares the brunt of the cost of these treaties in many varied and sometimes concealed ways… that’s if we’re compearing apples with apple’s; amongst the many other very serious disparities in that particular deal.

Whilst New Zealander’s are arriving here in droves looking for better wages and conditions the juxster position is that a variety of Australian companies have relocated their manufacturing plants to New Zealand, unashamedly because the wage costs are significantly lower and of course with CER currently in place there are no import tariffs between the two countries to protect Australian jobs and our National interests.

So in short Australian jobs are being exported on mass to New Zealand, whilst disgruntled underpaid New Zealander’s (who have consistently for over 100 years refused federation) are heading in the opposite direction and flooding our job market, taking more Australian Jobs and demanding the entitlements of Australian Citizenship, without any commitment whatsoever.

Meanwhile the New Zealand Government, its National Party and their cronies continue to arrogantly use an ‘Australian owned’  (soon to disappear down the ‘long drop‘) Fairfax and APN media spin cycle to deny that a problem even exists:

Bill English: “What’s the point of standing in the airport crying about it? We’ve just got to compete.”

Bill English: “In a war on talent let’s stop wringing our hands about it and just get out and compete with whatever tool we can think of”

Bill English“That boom will pass. In the meantime, instead of being paralysed by that we are getting on with making our own economy more competitive so that in time people will see more jobs and opportunities here.”

Well it appears the New Zealand Government considers it competition only when they’re they’re stealing Australian industry, agriculture and our jobs, they want both sides of our coin.

The only ‘Tool’ in this particular kit is NZ Gov Minister Bill English.  We however have news for Mr English; the mining boom has been running for more than two decades and has now ended, but even more strangely the, we assume educated, Mr English has a problem with geography. Mining booms and their associated jobs are not to be found in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast or for that matter the city of Perth which is where most Kiwis prefer to settle.

For recently arrived  Kiwi’s its all about life style and the fact that you, your incompetent and corruption riddled Government have failed to deliver on your promises mate.

Unfortunately the Australian Government has, to date, said little on the subject, except perhaps to note via DIAC statistics, that a significant percentage of the so called New Zealander’s clearing Australian Customs are not in fact New Zealand born, many perhaps only just having received a brand spanking new kiwi passport.

Its a well known fact that many migrants entering New Zealand simply see it as a two to three year stop over on their way through yet another back door into Australia, yet despite this neither government has started collecting statistics on this worrying trend. Just how many of the 54’000 “economic refugee” arrivals this year were in fact born in New Zealand? Just how many first applied for an Australian visa only to be declined?

Australia needs to act to put a lid on the unintended side effects of CER , the loss of Australian jobs when our manufacturers shift production to New Zealand’s low cost labour market and the further loss of jobs for Australians in their own country when a growing number of economic refugees, the victim of New Zealand’s economic model arrive on our doorstep. Its only a matter of time before this mass migratory onslaught drives down Australian wages and conditions with increasing unemployment. New Zealand is not only exporting its talent, its exporting a cancer created by successive New Zealand Governments for more than two decades.

Its time that we as Australians stopped ignoring the elephant in the room when it comes to immigration and refugees, New Zealanders are free to become politically active and get rid of the cause of their economic woes, the current influx of boat people, as with those after the Vietnam war, are not.

For to long successive New Zealand governments have been sweeping their problems under the rug of Australia, they’ve been riding on the coat tails of tax paying Australians, taking our jobs, our industries and driving down our standard of living by default……it’s time for their government to stand on their own two feet and stop expecting Australians to prop it up, economically and militarily, we need to put a stop to CER, and the sooner the better. Just take a look at their very recent history:
