ACC; Boag pushes shit up hill, asking for an apology from ACC

ACC Chairman, John Judge

Following yesterdays admission by the New Zealand police that the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) had failed to disclose any offence on the part of whistleblower Bronwyn Pullar and her friend Michelle Boag in their complaint, an apology is now being sought by the pair.

Phillip Murch, senior ACC manager

Boag is incensed at the behaviour of ACC and their two lying toadies Philip Murch and Hans Verberne, who had obviously falsely claimed extortion on the part of Ms Pullar alleging that she had threatened to go to the media about a privacy breach unless she was given a two-year guaranteed benefit.

As a result of Verbernes and Murches false statements ACC then referred the matter to the police in March, after Ms Pullar had finally gone to the media about ACC’s error in sending her confidential information on 6700 other claimants in August 2011.

Despite police publicly declaring that Pullar had not made the alleged extortion threat ACC chairman John Judge is still backing Mr Murch and Mr Verberne’s account of the meeting, publicly stating that their statements were a “complete and accurate” account of what had taken place at the meeting.

Mr Judge further stated “Our staff (Murch and Verberne) at the meeting considered that a threat had been made … they felt pressure”.

So Mr Judge expects us all to believe that “they felt pressure” but did nothing about the alleged threats for months, and only after the shit hit the fan, when the ACC privacy breach cock-up was made public…..now why would that be?

Well one plausible explanation could well be that John Judge and Ralph Stewart were a party to the false allegations, you know had helped cook them up in the first place, and the subsequent defamatory report.

That would certainly account for Mr Judges perverse loyalty to Murch and Verberne; after all, if this were to be the case, neither would be likely to take the rap themselves if there was a move to sack them.

Boag, as reported in the New Zealand Herald, has said that Mr Judge’s comments yesterday were just a repetition of the false “accusation and defamation against me” and “an appalling example of corporate bullying”.

According to that report Boag has also considered defamation proceedings over the comments but felt that fighting ACC’s taxpayer-funded legal team was well beyond her means.

Hans Verberne, senior ACC Manager

Boag is justifiably angry, as she put it “I do not understand how the chairman and chief executive of a significant government corporation can stand by managers who have proven to have lied to their bosses and to their minister.” going on to say“At the very least I’m owed a fulsome apology.

According to Boag the police had not even bothered to interview either Pullar or herself before deciding to dump the investigation

The Minister responsible for ACC, Judith Collins, has also apparently refused to comment, claiming that it was an operational issue for ACC. However Boag feels that Collins is just buck passing and that it’s now time for “Crusher” Collins to front up, “She has been lied to and the police have confirmed that. How does the minister feel about that and how does she feel about perpetuating those lies in Parliament and in the media?”

The Labour Parties ACC shadow, Andrew Little, believed that there was an “absolute contradiction” between the police decision yesterday and the report produced by ACC in March; containing Murch and Verberne’s false allegations.

ACC chief executive Ralph Stewart is also ducking for cover, still unwilling to wake up and smell the roses. He has repeatedly failed to explain the contradictions, a series of lies that stand out like the proverbial  “balls on a short haired dog”, preferring again to pass the buck. What was it that Stewart said: ” it falls squarely in the lap of the minister to say whether or not she is satisfied that the situation has been handled appropriately by the corporation”.

The deeper you dig with this story the more intense the stench of corruption becomes. We think that if Boag were to make a public appeal she may well get the funding required to launch her own private prosecution……..There are a shit load of pissed-off ACC claimants who just might be prepared to tip in a little cash donation for such a worthy cause…….and quite possibly send these obvious conspirators to prison.
